Last summer when I was in Kenya, the last few days I was really sick with a high fever and extreme pressure in my chest. When I got back to the states I went to the ER and they thought I had pneumonia but I didn't and actually never found out what it was but just gave me a bunch of anti-biotics. I'm still trying to pay off the hospital bill right now. Well it got better but within the last couple of months I have had a shortness of breath and my mom insisted upon me getting it checked out. I am a very active person and can't even hike for more than 5 minutes without having to stop. Unfortunately as I am working as a nanny now, I do not have any health insurance so the last two doctors visits have already totaled to be $800 and today he said he wants to send me to a cardiologist which could add up to 2-3000 dollars! There was nothing on the chest x-ray and they've done a bunch of blood work and the only thing that showed up was an extra heart beat on my EKG. They also want to do an eco cardio gram? which is an ultra-sound of the heart and that's $400 before I see the cardiologist. That is the long and the short of it, the doctor doesn't think its terribly serious but he doesn't think it should go on ignored either. I am very short on personal money right now anyway and cannot obtain medical insurance with a pre-existing condition. Please just be praying, I'm really at a loss at what to do right now!
